The last book I read was: Agile Web Development with Rails, Thomas Hansson

Interests: I've been employed at The Post and Courier newspaper in Charleston, South Carolina since 1986. From 1986 until 1990, I wrote features stories. From 1990 until 1995, I covered crime and courts. In the fall of 1995, I was assigned to work on a web site for the newspaper. I served as webmaster from 1995 until early 2003, when the newspaper began using an outside firm to host and manage the site. In 2005, I moved to the newspaper's Information Services department, where I manage e-mail servers and assist the network administrator.
In my spare time I enjoy fiddling with my computer at home. I once ran a small BBS called "Dave's World." I also enjoy reading, relaxing and watching television. My wife, Kathy , enjoys gardening and is an avid garage sale bargain hunter. Her daughter Lacey Buff, 25, is manager of a shoe store in Charleston's famous King Street shopping district.. My daughter, Jennifer Oxenford , 36, lives in Landsdowne, PA, where she is applications coordinator for MAGPI, the regional organization that provides Internet2 connectivity for schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Jennifer is also an IT Project Leader at the University of Pennsylvania.
On March 26, 2008, Jennifer and her husband Jim, brought my grandaughter, Sophia Grace Oxenford, into the world. Sophie doesn't have an e-mail address yet, but her Dad took some great photos when she was only minutes old.
My parents, Howard "Mac" and Marge MacDougall, grew up and lived in southern New Jersey until 1976, when they moved to Charleston In 1994, they returned to New Jersey until August 2002, when they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
My brother, Steven, is a Lutheran minister in Prairie, Illinois. My sister, Joyce Schrank, is raising three children in Phoenix, Arizona, where her husband, Jeff, is a Lutheran minister.
